End Of Year Show Postponed…
By thedreamingtree | November 30, 2008
It’s with regret that we have to announce that the end of year show in Rotherham has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. TDT were due to perform with PlackBand II and Heidi Jo Hines at Montgomery Hall. The Classic Rock Society, who are promoting the gig, had the following to say:
“After yesterday’s rather sad news about us having to pull the PBII gig, we can now announce that Mostly Autumn have been absolutely great and have allowed us to put PBII and Heidi Jo Hines on with them.
Great news and what a cracking Christmas Party night!
Tickets for the PBII gig are now valid for Mostly Autumn or can be exchanged/refunded if this is not suitable.”
So anyone who has already purchased tickets for the show can still use tham at the alternative date, or ask for their money back. Apologies to all who had planned on attending.

Never say never again
By Jim | November 25, 2008
So there you have it. Pictorial evidence of what happens if you feed a teetotal drummer with just a smidgeon of rather fine port. The back-story is that the fine chaps that form the rest of TDT, along with stalwart fans Belinda and Kevin bought for my **th birthday [ed- censored that bit so we don't look too crusty] a fine bottle of port from the year in which I was born, which happened to be a rather good vintage.
At some stage Neil was informed of the (I’m guessing) astronomical price of said beverage and said that something so valuable had to be worth trying. Well, after the gig at Katie’s on Sunday we all piled back to my gaff for some pizza and out came the port. The rest is history. Captions on a comment please! No prizes.

Newage and the Stone Age…
By Dan | November 24, 2008
Today was a typical Monday morning, two hours teaching and then being let loose at 12pm ready to focus on band stuff. Today has been a very productive day even though I have been dealing with the inner chatterbox telling me I’m crap and I shouldn’t bother!!!
Get yea behind me Satan I said in me best Richard Burton voice…”The Power Of Gigs Compells me, The Power Of Gigs Compells me!”
So I made some good progress for 2009, speaking to a lovely lady who runs the Farmer Phils Festival in Shropshire, then on to Shrewsbury where I met James who runs the Bulls Head who was a a great guy and like our stuff and then on to the Wheatsheaf which was a very small venue indeed however the welcome was warm which was the best thing. I am determined to make 2009 a much better year than this year which means raising the bar some as this year has been our best to date.
One thing that did hit me though was the reliance on older technology for presenting your demos in order to get gigs. I have this new fangled phone which does everything but wipe my ass. I uploaded our music to it along with pictures of gigs etc and took it along with me to the venues in an endeavour to save time and do things quick and smart and try to get guys to commit to booking the band there and then, but it seems the world isn’t quite ready for my brand of “In Ya Face” decision making. Today I learned that people still like a CD demo. Oh well worth a try.
Peace
Dan

Venue Change
By thedreamingtree | November 19, 2008
The gig due to take place this Sunday the 23rd November at Atticus in Bearwood, Birmingham has been moved to a different venue. It will now take place at Katie Fitzgerald’s in Stourbridge as part of the Winter Beer Festival, with TDT appearing alongside other acts from 4pm till 8pm. Certain members of the band will doubtless be partaking in the activities on offer, so come along and join in the fun. The map of the venue and further details can be found on the gigs page.

Ka-blooey!
By Neil | November 13, 2008
Anyone who’s even a casual reader of the shenanigans of TDT’s recent efforts will know that Mr. Jones has of late been holed up in his hobbit hole with wholewheat biscuits mixing the whole of the acoustic album. Now, what’s the worst thing, other than impending Armageddon, that could happen in those circumstances to delay progress? Yep, the computer that contains all the files and music could blow up. Which it promptly did when I had it back in the studio to do a little bit of moonlighting setting up click tracks for Metal band Intense, who I also play drums for. The computer’s power supply unit had decided that it had had enough of life, and shuffled off this mortal coil when I pushed the usual 230 volts through it’s socket. Very inconvenient, and left us with having to raid Dan’s other home computer for a spare PSU. The only conclusion is that the PSU must have been a drummer on the quiet. Very poor sense of timing…

Acoustic album update cont cont cont…
By Dan | November 11, 2008
I have been beavering away mixing the new acoustic album and I am pleased to say that I have finished! With a sigh of relief from the lady up stairs who has been evicted from the living room we now have 11 finished songs (There is rumours that the remaining recordings will be released mid 09 as a second volume but keep that between me and you). The rest of the band will each receive a master tomorrow at our gig in Stourbridge where upon they tell me how crap they think it is! Never fail I have enlisted the aid of Dr Victor Mendoser the african witch doctor I met while climbing the twin peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro who has assured me the Voodoo/ Mojo spell he place upon the recording will work out just fine and the album will be greeted with happy ears.
So whats left to do I hear you ask? Next task is to register the master with the MCPS and then its off to see the wizard at the pressing plant all in good time for tea and cake at the CRS gig in December, oh yes and the small thing of artwork which is being done as you read…I think…I hope!
Keep your eyes open for a pre-release mail about where and when you can purchase our latest musical delight.
Peace
Dan
